most people born between 1970 and 1990 know what the 1-up is. For those of you NOT in the know (how is this possible?) its a green mushroom looking thing with a face, which gives you a 1-up in life in various Super Mario games. It was a huge life saver when ...

for all of you parents out there with kids of any age. you should get this: when i was younger, in my preteen years, i used to take swigs of liquor from open bottles  and then try to add some water to hide it from my parents. here's something to avoid similar goings on [via: Sporty's - $14.95]

apology letters

even though I'm a pastor's wife, and I'm supposed to avoid saying inappropriate things or whatnot, I can't seem to stop it sometimes. I've been told that I have very little EQ - basically means that i've stuck a foot or two in my mouth before. today i think i've ...

lazy person’s snowball maker

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

This thing cracks me up. It's a snowball maker. Instead of using your hands to pack snow together and ball, it acts like a ice cream scooper. I can't imagine that this would work that well though.  And probably as much work as two hands trying to create a snowball. But I'll never know, since I don't have one of these. And because in NYC, we haven't seen much snow yet. I think I'm more disappointed we haven't had that much snow, than not knowing how well this thing works or not. [via: Amazon - Sno-Baller - $5.95]

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

some of you know that I'm a heavy rice eater. i love rice. no, i LOVE rice. so to me a good rice cooker is extremely important. so the secret of my sucessful rice cooker buying is ... to steal the rice cooker from my mother :-P but if you're considering a rice cooker, maybe you should take a look at this FAQ site for rice cookers.

voltron shoes

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

as a kid, another thing i loved was Voltron! and in the last year or so I've seen re-dos of voltron stuff like the toys  and more t-shirts, etc. now there's something new:  The green and blue ones look cool. I'm not so sure about the black, red or yellow ones. [via: Uncrate - $80-$135 ...
